What holds for all three
Four points you are better off knowing beforehand than after ten minutes of searching.
- Everything is computed in the browser. Your SMILES line, your formula and the structure you drew are not sent to a server.
- No account and no install. You only need a Quanta account once a result is meant to become flashcards and be saved.
- The data sets behind them are the same ones the app uses: 66 compounds in the structure formula generator, 52 in the 3D molecule builder, 133 formulas in the formula sheet and 118 elements in the periodic table.
- None of the three simulates chemistry or physics. They render and compute, they do not predict. Reaction equations, equilibria and kinetics are not part of them.
From the result to a flashcard
All three tools end at the same place: a result you want to keep.

Produce a result
Draw a structure, render a SMILES line or type a formula. Up to this point none of the three tools needs an account.

Ask for flashcards
The button only appears when a checked data set sits behind the result: a known compound or a formula from the formula sheet. Without one the back of the card would be guesswork, and a guessed back is worse than no flashcard at all.

Sign up and keep learning
After signing up the flashcards sit in a topic and are reviewed with FSRS-6. The PNG export works without this step.
